AREAS WE WORK IN:
Etafeni Day Care Centre Trust in Nyanga Cape Town provides fourteen support, education and skills development programmes on the campus and through outreach programmes into the community, reaching up to 15 000 beneficiaries per year. The Trust has developed a replicable model of holistic sustainable community-based care for AIDS-affected and vulnerable children and their caregivers. Etafeni runs a programme that trains HIV-infected mothers in beadwork, smocking, patchwork, and various other craft-making skills. The products are produced at Etafeni and sold locally and internationally, giving the HIV+ mothers a steady income.
