A good story inspires, educates and heals
After completing a teacher’s diploma in Speech and Drama and a post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology, Lisa started her career working in the education and community development sector. She developed and facilitated holistic education programmes for under-resourced communities in Cape Town as a founding member of Earthchild Project. She has co-authored the Cool To Be Me social-emotional learning storybook series and created an Early Childhood Development package with Ilifa Labantwana. Over the years, her growing passion for people and their stories and her expertise in storytelling practice and facilitation, have advanced through a diversity of fields. She has attended in-depth storytelling training courses at the International School of Storytelling and the Centre for Biographical Storytelling, completed training in Systemic and Family Constellation facilitation at African Constellations and continues to study and practice as an Archetypal Psychotherapist. She also developed, managed and facilitated Our Story Your Story, a Clowns Without Border’s autobiographical storytelling project, aimed at building bridges within divided communities.
AREAS WE WORK IN:
Lisa offers individual story-coaching to individuals and groups by harnessing the power of storytelling to build connections between storytellers (leaders, teams and organisations) and their audiences. In sessions she draws on the art and craft of public storytelling by harvesting and capturing real lived experiences and authentic narratives in meaningful, engaging and impactful ways. Through the telling of stories, an organisation’s beneficiaries are also able to qualitatively share their experiences as recipients of social development programmes.
