As a member of the Shusterman Foundation Network Incubator Programme, Mensch joined fellow participants in New York for three enriching days of shared learning. We packed our winter gear, took the customary peppermint crisp gifts, and headed out for what was a fabulous gathering with an incredible line-up of ROI speakers and Shusterman network members.
The gathering brings together leaders from nine different networks, all working to impact people and communities throughout the world. Three days of uninterrupted learning, sharing and support at this residential programme in Tarrytown New York, provided the setting.
In year one, the programme focused on ‘The Value of Networked Communities – How to Develop Networks and Assess Impact’. Now in year two, with each incubator network having enhanced their offerings and experienced both successes and challenges, the focus has shifted towards “Sharing the Power of the Networked Community”. Programming centred on ‘Peer-Leds’ to learn from one another in order to develop new skills; ‘Case Studies’ to offer new perspectives and advice to fellow participants facing a professional challenge; and ‘Brain Dates’ for one-on-one intentional conversations with a peer.
Talent from the Shusterman ROI Community (Jewish activists, innovators and entrepreneurs) joined the line up to provide expert content in areas such as: Scaling, Using Tech in your Network, Finding Partners and Building Coalitions, Time and Project Management, Dating your Donors, Teaching Empathy, Empowering Communities to Prevent and Stop Genocide, and Jewish Spiritual Meditation.
