Good community care is good medical care.
Dr. Anthony Smith is Medical Doctor in General Practice in Cape Town. His practice has been providing integrated family health care to residents of the Atlantic Seaboard (and beyond) for over 17 years.
He considers Family Medicine the cornerstone of healthcare, and believes in cultivating, what he feels is most central to healing, - the relationship with patients.
AREAS WE WORK IN:
Masks for Medics is a disaster management initiative, which in collaboration with The Angel Network, is set up to provide Personal Protective Equipment to Health Care providers in need, working in peoples homes during the Covid19 pandemic.
While there have been campaigns to support frontline healthcare workers, this campaign is focusing on the forgotten; the home-based carers, the nurses caring for the elderly who are most susceptible to the virus, the paramedics and emergency response personnel called out to help those in need and the Palliative Care practitioners caring for those on their deathbeds.
Dr Smith is joined in the team by fellow committed doctors Dr Lauren Lee, Dr Sonia Hough, Dr Julie Etellin, Dr Sarahan Brophy and Dr Natalia Novikova.
They aim to deliver these services to beneficiaries in the Cape Town CBD, the Cape Flats and in the many township communities.
