Ubuntu Beekeeping Project

This Rosh Hashanah, we are proud to bring you this sweet gift – a jar of honey that empowers rural South African women through beekeeping.

For over 100 years, our partners The Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) have put the spirit of Rosh Hashanah into action helping the world’s most vulnerable people. Now, the JDC has partnered with South African organisation Mensch to create the Ubuntu Beekeeping Project – part of JDC’s Imagine More initiative that works to enhance underserved women’s livelihoods. Through this project, newly trained women beekeepers can boost their income, and build a better future for their families. By investing in bees and nurturing their ecosystem, the women also become successful advocates for sustainability. Their achievements inspire, contribute to biodiversity, and enhance the vital role of pollination in our natural environment.

THIS IS NOT AN ORDINARY HONEY

Bee Loved Honey comes infused with a true African story of restoration, economic empowerment and environmental renewal. The honey is cultivated by rural women beekeepers and is supported by JDC’s Ubuntu Beekeeping Project.
