Mensch’s Service-Learning Programme combines hands-on volunteering with meaningful learning and reflection, equipping us to better respond to South Africa’s social challenges through Tikkun Olam — Repairing the World.
Together with friends and peers, we will explore 4 of South Africa’s societal challenges Early Education, Food Security, Homelessness & Youth Development.
The programme comprises an evening orientation, 4 Sunday mornings each focused on a different social issue, and an evening graduation ceremony.
At each Sunday session – we will Learn from experts about these social issues, visit projects, discus and reflect, and explore the Jewish perspective via a peer- led chavruta (study). We will Act by volunteering to create impact; and we will Grow our service work and better understand this duty as an expression of our Jewish values.
