ABOUT Amanda
Amanda Blankfield-Koseff holds an honours degree in Organisational Communication, completing her undergraduate degree through Bond University, and her honours through UNISA. She's had experience in journalism, door-to-door sales and marketing communications and worked as a marketing and events manager for six years at Afrika Tikkun. Amanda married Jak Koseff in May 2013. They have a Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest Cat. She loves travelling, being a guitarist, singer and songwriter, and exploring photography of clouds, animals and nature.
In 2017, Amanda was nominated for the Absa Jewish Achievers - Jewish Woman in Leadership Award.

Amanda created The Youth Citizens Action Programme (Y-CAP) in 2009 and in 2013 launched it within a new youth development NPO, Empowervate Trust. Both the organisation's and programme's vision is the empowering and motivation of new generations of active citizens, and Y-CAP is a first step. Their toolkit teaches basic business skills, social entrepreneurship and soft skills needed to either go to university, get a job, or become entrepreneurs.
With the Department of Education as an implementing partner, the first pilot was held in 4 provinces in 2010. In 2011 all 9 provinces participated, and in 2015 a primary school category was added. By 2017 there were over 600 schools in the programme. The beauty of the programme is the two - pronged impact which includes the personal development of the individuals coupled with the changes made to the problems at the school or in the community.
